LIFW Spring Summer 05

This collection evoked the nostalgia and the bold statement of the exciting era of the sixties and seventies. With surface techniques like tie and dye, ombre dyeing of reds going into oranges, then yellows, turquoise blues going into sea greens , the fabric was then block printed to be transformed into soft flowing skirts, tops and dresses. PIntucking in bias panels created more body for the flow. Structured corsets, fitted shirts, were layered with jackets in light silks ombre dyed and quilted into small square patterns to create an ethereal look. Black and white tie and dyed fabric was screen and block printed, the design picked up by subtle embroidery details, then cut into different asssymetrical panels and the unique seamlines picked up with anchor thread in reds and oranges. Seams were developed to produce fitted bodies eliminating side seams and manipulating continuous circular seams.

LIFW Spring Summer 03

The collection inspired by the vibrant stark colors of Africa had blacks and greys detailed with bright surface texturing in reds, oranges yellows and greens. Swirling motifs in opaque fabrics cut out to reveal the base transparent fabrics, patch tribal motifs with colored circles, bead and anchor thread details for seam accentuation all depicted bold Africa. Triple layers in skirts with reds , oranges and blues detailed with blue and green frills, assymetrical long wrap jackets and dresses with hoods lined with contrasting coors of reds and oranges were teamed with fitted trousers to make the look complete.

LIFW Spring Summer 01

Vibrant colors mixed erratically with each other in fantastic combinations defined the collection of 2001. Pinks, yellows and blues were balanced with greens and reds in the same ensemble to create a bold yet harmonious look. Layering of chiffons on silk with colored beads to create a unique texture was to prove to be a trademark of the label in the years to come. Tantra patches in silk, beads and threadlines were used to provide yet more contrast in colors placed on dramatic places on fabrics like silks, organzas and chiffons. Layering infused more drama in simple silhouettes in skirts, dresses, tops and trousers. Chinese collars and long tunics with chiense buttons with straight pants, along with Tantra patches in silk gave the collection a oriental twist.
